Regular Season Round 13: Badel - Kriva Palanka 66-52

The game between second ranked Kriva Palanka (10-3) and fourth ranked Badel (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Kriva Palanka was defeated by Badel in Skopje 66-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kriva Palanka. Badel forced 21 Kriva Palanka turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. Badel looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Lindsey Cleary (183-1997, college: CMS) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and her fellow American import guard Arin Freeman (170, college: UIC) chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Cleary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Badel's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Abby Niehues (186-1999, college: S.Nazarene, agency: DC Sports) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Mihaela Aleksovska (175-2005) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kriva Palanka players scored in double figures. Badel have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 8-5 record, which they share with Probasket. Kriva Palanka at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Badel's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Skopje to the arena Vardar.
